The College of Southern Nevada, in collaboration with UNLV and NSU, recently hosted the annual GraduAsian ceremony to honor Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander graduates. The event brought together students, families, and community members to celebrate these individuals’ achievements.

“Congratulations are in order for all of our graduates and their families for this significant milestone,” was expressed during the event. The ceremony featured student speeches, remarks from congressional representatives, and break dancing performances. “As our graduates embark on their respective journeys, we stand alongside them, cheering them on towards their bright futures.”

The success of GraduAsian was attributed to several individuals and organizations. Jaewon Jung served as Master of Ceremonies. Micaela Moore delivered a keynote speech that inspired graduates. Dr. Reyes Luna represented UNLV; Dr. Clarissa Cota represented CSN; Dr. Zarah Borines represented NSU; Wells Fargo acted as Employer Representative; Sands Cares sponsored the event.

Appreciation was extended to Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s office, Senator Jacky Rosen’s office, Congresswoman Dina Titus’s office, and Congresswoman Susie Lee’s office for supporting the AANHPI community.

Reflecting on GraduAsian 2024’s success highlighted the resilience and perseverance of AANHPI graduates. Their achievements were described as a testament to limitless possibilities ahead.

“Once again, congratulations to all of our graduates,” was stated at the conclusion of the event. “We wish you continued success and fulfillment in all your future endeavors.”
