Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has initiated a $20 million campaign urging Congress to renew the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), originally enacted under President Trump. This campaign represents the largest effort by a conservative group to support Trump’s legislative agenda in his second term. It includes an advertising push across all 50 states, encouraging citizens to advocate against tax increases.
Ryan Norris, AFP-AR State Director, expressed concerns over potential financial impacts if the TCJA is not renewed: “This year, Congress is facing a countdown to a crisis that threatens family budgets nationwide. If Congress fails to renew the TCJA, Arkansans will be left paying $2,220 more in taxes. Along with increasing the burden of inflation on working families, the expiration of these tax cuts would cripple local businesses with a $1,218 tax increase and ultimately cost over 6,200 jobs.”
Norris further emphasized the importance of continuing these policies: “If we are going to reignite the American Dream, we need to start with protecting the progress we made with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as well as expand on pro-growth tax policy that will jump start the economy and get more Arkansans back to work.”
The Protect Prosperity campaign aims to mobilize voters nationwide through phone calls and door-to-door outreach. It seeks to highlight supportive Members of Congress while holding others accountable. The campaign includes media engagement and lobbying efforts across all states.
Through previous campaigns in 2023 and 2024, AFP reached nearly 30 million voters. This year’s initiative plans extensive grassroots activities aimed at prioritizing pro-growth tax reform in Congress.
