Today, Americans for Prosperity (AFP) initiated a $20 million nationwide campaign urging Congress to renew the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), a key component of President Trump’s economic agenda. The campaign is being launched with advertisements across all 50 states, advocating against tax increases.

Skylar Zander, AFP-FL State Director, emphasized the potential financial impact on Floridians if Congress does not act: “This year, Congress is facing a countdown to a crisis that threatens family budgets nationwide. If Congress fails to renew the TCJA, Floridians will be left paying $3,505 more in taxes. Along with increasing the burden of inflation on working families, the expiration of these tax cuts would cripple local businesses with a $1,610 tax increase and ultimately cost over 61,500 jobs.”

Zander further stated the importance of maintaining and expanding pro-growth tax policies: “If we are going to reignite the American Dream, we need to start with protecting the progress we made with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, as well as expand on pro-growth tax policy that will jump start the economy and get more Floridians back to work.”

The Protect Prosperity campaign aims to mobilize support across all states by reaching out directly to voters through phone calls and door-to-door visits. It seeks to amplify Congressional voices supporting pro-growth tax cuts while holding accountable those who do not.

A comprehensive media engagement strategy accompanies this effort. AFP plans over 1,000 meetings with Congressional offices and various events involving activists and Members of Congress. They will also host roundtables with job creators and share testimonials from families potentially affected by non-renewal of the Trump tax cuts.

In previous years, AFP engaged nearly 30 million voters through its outreach efforts. This year’s focus remains on ensuring that pro-growth tax reform stays at the forefront of Congressional priorities.
