Veronica Ochoa, an Accountant Technician I specializing in Third Party Contracts at the Charleston Campus, has been named March 2025 Employee of the Month for Classified Staff. The nomination came from Willene Wadkins, who praised Ochoa’s dedication and assistance. “Veronica is always willing to assist with translations or with any other pertinent information. She gives the best assistance to students and she continues to give myself and my staff the best assistance possible,” said Wadkins.

As part of her recognition, Ochoa will receive $200, a certificate, a plaque, a designated parking spot, and acknowledgment across all three campuses. This award aims to honor exceptional classified employees who consistently perform at high levels.

The initiative “Rewind & Recognize” seeks to celebrate past recipients of the Classified Employee of the Month (CEOM) title from 2023 who may not have received adequate recognition. The Classified Council emphasizes the importance of gratitude and fostering a culture of appreciation as they move forward. By implementing this initiative, they aim to strengthen their community and ensure every classified employee feels valued for their unique contributions.
