The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is moving forward with the FranklinCovey 4 Disciplines of Execution System, known as 4DX, to enhance goal execution amid various priorities. Acting President Dr. William “Bill” Kibler announced this initiative during the Fall Convocation, emphasizing its role in achieving student success and strategic objectives.

The 4DX model aims to improve effectiveness by focusing on crucial goals. It involves all college units and staff in aligning their efforts with the institution’s primary goals, termed Wildly Important Goals (WIGs). In March 2024, CSN’s Executive Team established one Breakthrough WIG and three Sub WIGs centered on program completion, unduplicated headcount, retention, and equity gaps in course completion.

Training for this system began last spring for executives and leaders. By September, over 70 frontline team leaders and coaches were trained, with additional sessions planned for October. This fall sees a continuation of training across faculty and staff as teams start drafting their Team WIGs (TWIGs) that correspond with the college’s main goals.

Dr. Kibler expressed his support for implementing the 4DX system to help meet CSN’s strategic plans effectively. The CAPE Team is spearheading this implementation effort and has prepared a Support and Guidance Packet to aid staff in understanding and applying the model.

Dr. Kibler acknowledged the dedication of staff towards serving students and looks forward to seeing TWIGs developed by Spring 2025.
