Two events were held at the College of Southern Nevada’s North Las Vegas Campus on Friday evening, celebrating the achievements of its graduates. These gatherings emphasized the resilience, culture, and accomplishments of the students.

The Latino Alliance Celebration saw its largest group of graduating students to date. Graduates received cultural stoles from family members as they took the stage. The event featured Astrid Silva, Executive Director of Dream Big Nevada, as the keynote speaker. She shared her story from being an undocumented student to leading a nonprofit organization that serves immigrant families across Nevada. Staff members were also acknowledged for their contributions to the Latino Alliance, and a representative from Congressman Steven Horsford’s office attended to mark the occasion.

Simultaneously, the Women’s and Native American Alliance Celebration honored CSN women and Indigenous students. Evelyn Pacheco, founder of Nevada Women in Trades and a pioneer in the plumbing industry, addressed attendees about overcoming challenges and creating opportunities for underrepresented communities.

These events highlighted CSN’s diverse community and celebrated students reaching significant milestones in their academic paths.
