The Early Childhood Education Lab (ECE Lab) at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) offers more than just childcare services. It provides a nurturing environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years, where they can grow, learn, and build lasting connections.

Operating from August 19, 2024, through August 8, 2025, the lab is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., serving CSN students, faculty, staff, and community members. CSN students enrolled in at least six credits receive a 25 percent discount on childcare tuition.

The ECE Lab’s commitment to quality is underscored by its accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and its five-star rating from Nevada’s Silver State Stars Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS). This recognition reflects the lab’s excellence in providing a safe and educational space for young children.

Additionally, the ECE Lab serves as an educational hub where CSN students in the Early Childhood Education Program gain practical experience. This integration of theory and practice ensures that future educators are well-prepared while children receive high-quality care.

Visitors can experience a sensory-rich environment with Monarch Butterfly gardens, landscaped playgrounds with shade and sandboxes, and a small fruit orchard. A “gallery wall” allows students, staff, and families to display their artwork.

Marissa Anderson expressed her gratitude for the ECE Lab’s impact on her son Diesel’s development over five years. “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to CSN for treating Diesel like family over the past five years,” she said. “Handing over my baby at just nine months old was tough as a new mom, but seeing his joy at his caregivers’ embrace was incredibly sweet.”
