CSN hosts events for Women’s Empowerment Month featuring leadership discussions

CSN’s Women’s Alliance is organizing a series of events for Women’s Empowerment Month, offering opportunities to engage in discussions on leadership, resilience, and issues such as affordable childcare.

The month begins with “Resilient and Rising: Women Shaping Las Vegas” on March 3. This event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Charleston Campus Ballrooms. Panelists include Vida Lin, founder and president of the Asian Community Development Council; Nancy E. Brune, Councilwoman of Ward 6; and Jaclyn Schultz, journalist and FOX 5 anchor.

On March 4, the CSN Women’s Alliance Resource Fair will take place at the CSN North Las Vegas Campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing access to resources such as mental health support and housing assistance.

A presentation about civil rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer by Dr. Earnest Bracey is scheduled for March 5 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Charleston Campus.

A virtual panel discussion on affordable childcare options will occur on March 7 from 9 to 10 a.m., addressing early childhood education and daycare programs.

Madison Kimbro from Channel 8 will discuss her career in broadcast journalism on March 13 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Henderson Campus.

Flecia Thomas will lead a virtual session on self-improvement and resilience on March 25 from noon to 1:30 p.m.

The Shirley Chisholm Leadership Academy offers leadership panels via Zoom on March 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., covering topics like civic engagement and career development.
