The schedule includes diverse programs, from literary showcases to community gatherings, aimed at honoring the history, culture, and contributions of the Black community. These events are organized by various CSN departments and community partners.

The celebration begins with Gospel Fest 2025 on February 1st at Water Street Plaza Amphitheater in Henderson, NV. This free event will feature gospel music performances throughout the day.

On February 5th, the Black History Kickoff Celebration will take place at CSN’s North Las Vegas Campus Student Union CafĂ©. Attendees can enjoy music, food, and entertainment as they mark the start of Black History Month.

The Sankofa Black Writers Series is scheduled for three consecutive Wednesdays—February 12th, 19th, and 26th—at CSN Charleston Campus’s Multicultural Center. Moderated by Professor Askia Talib-Deen, this series will feature local Black authors such as Tajja Isen and AJ Houston.

The Black Student Union Sneaker Ball is set for February 13th at CSN North Las Vegas Campus’s June Whitley Lounge. This event offers an opportunity for students to connect with peers while celebrating culture.

CSN also highlights the Spring Preserve Black History Month Festival on February 15th in Las Vegas. Limited tickets are available through CSN for this festival.

A Mental Health and Motivation Roundtable titled “The Power of Us” will be held on February 20th at CSN Charleston Campus Student Union. The roundtable aims to foster discussions on mental health and motivation.

On February 24th, an AAHC Faculty, Staff, and Student Mixer will occur at CSN Charleston Campus’s Student Union Ballroom. This mixer provides a platform for networking within the African American Heritage Committee.

Additionally, students enrolled in Sankofa English courses can participate in a Black History Essay Contest themed “Freedom is NOT Free.” Essays are due by February 14th with bookstore vouchers up to $175 awarded as prizes.
