As Constitution Day approaches on September 17, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is marking the occasion with a video lecture series presented by the Department of Social Sciences. This initiative aims to deepen the community’s understanding of the U.S. Constitution, a document that continues to shape the nation’s laws and values. This year, three new videos have been produced:
Dr. Michael Hart discusses Culley v. Marshall (2024) and the Due Process Clause.
Dr. Francis Carleton provides an analysis of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in U.S. v. Rahimi (2024) and the 2nd Amendment.
Dr. Kenneth Fernandez explores the story behind the Supreme Court’s power of judicial review in Marbury v. Madison (1803).
Each lecture offers viewers a chance to explore the Constitution’s relevance in today’s world.
Constitution Day, observed annually on September 17, commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
