The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) participated in the Las Vegas Pride Parade on Friday, October 11. Students, faculty, and friends joined together to celebrate love and unity.

Joe Hassert, a Communication faculty member and organizer of the CSN LGBTQIA Club, led a group of about 45 participants through downtown North Las Vegas. The group was accompanied by music and flags as they turned the parade into an energetic event.

“We received a great response from the crowd,” said Hassert. “Notable things included Dr. Flecia Thomas driving her red convertible and the presence of the CSN Cheer Team.”

Participants were dressed in rainbow attire and carried banners while dancing along the parade route. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, high-fives, and selfies as CSN made its presence felt at the event.
