With Women’s History Month approaching, the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) has been celebrating by highlighting some of its notable women. Over a six-week period, four women visited the Early Childhood Education Lab School to engage children with storytelling sessions.
Kathy Egohian captivated young listeners with “I Love You Like No Otter,” a story that explores themes of love and friendship. Donna Ouderkirk brought humor to the room with “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day,” a book that resonates with everyone who has faced challenging days. Yvonne Realivasquez entertained with “Dragons Love Tacos,” which had the children laughing along. Jolene Romero concluded the series by reading “Tacky the Penguin,” emphasizing that being different is something positive.
These storytellers did more than read books; they inspired curiosity among children and underscored the importance of literature and role models in early education.
