Edawn honors local companies at annual existing industry awards

The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) recognized local businesses at its 11th Annual Existing Industry Awards, which took place at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno. The event honored companies from Washoe County, Storey County, Reno, Sparks, and Fernley, including several nonprofits.

A total of 69 companies were nominated for their contributions to the region’s economy. Award winners included Nevada Nanotech Systems for Tech Innovation, PK Electrical and Noble Studios as Philanthropy Heroes in small and large categories respectively, and U.S. Ordnance for prioritizing employees among large organizations. Other recipients included Coalition Snow for Small But Mighty, Aqua Metals and Patagonia for sustainability leadership in small and large business divisions, Triad Plastic Technologies and both ARGU America, Inc. and RIX Industries for manufacturing excellence in small and large categories.

JK Architecture Engineering was recognized for engagement with education among smaller companies while Arrow Electronics received the same honor among larger firms. The Reno Housing Authority was named Community Partner. Sierra Nevada Corporation was awarded Company of the Year in the large category. The President’s Award went to Right To Start.

“Each year, EDAWN’s Existing Industry Awards celebrate the remarkable achievements of our region’s businesses who make up the backbone of our economy,” said Taylor Adams, President and CEO of EDAWN. “These awards stand as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation, and we’re honored to recognize and showcase their resilience, growth, and commitment to our community.”

EDAWN is a private/public partnership that has operated since 1983 with a focus on creating jobs by attracting new businesses to western Nevada while also supporting existing companies.
