The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced extended restrictions on west Starr Avenue and southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) as crews work on constructing a new soundwall for the ongoing I-15 South Project.

Through Friday, July 26, the west Starr Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-15 will be closed on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers will be detoured to the St. Rose Parkway southbound on-ramp via Dean Martin Drive to Southern Highlands Parkway. The closure has been extended due to extremely hot daytime working temperatures. The on-ramp will be closed during daytime hours to minimize noise disturbance for nearby residents at night.

The work is part of an $86 million project aimed at improving nearly nine miles of I-15 between Sloan Road and Warm Springs Road. Project information is available at www.dot.nv.gov/i15SouthProject.

Speed through the work zone is reduced to 55 MPH. Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through work zones and take alternate detour routes if possible. NDOT collaborates with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other factors. For the latest state highway conditions, visit www.nvroads.com or call 511 before driving.
