The CSN Cheer Team recently gathered onlookers and a crowd of 72 participating faculty, administrators, staff, and student workers before engaging in the first annual Faculty & Staff Volleyball Tournament at the NLV campus Sports Center.

The winning teams—Team Old Souls, Team Avalos, and Team Coyote Net Ninjas—each participated in three games and received medals (gold, silver, and bronze respectively) along with Certificates of Participation. Akheim Peterson from Team Coyote Net Ninjas was honored as MVP. This event successfully brought together faculty, administrators, staff, and student workers across three campuses for friendly competition. The tournament aimed to foster camaraderie among participants while promoting support for athletic events on campus.

Nine teams competed for bragging rights and gold medals. The teams included Career Services Crushers from Career Services; FYE Spikers from FYE; executive leadership members as Team Avalos; Facilities staff as Team Unbreakable Net Warriors; student leaders as Team ASCSN; athletics staff as Team Old Souls; and a mix of faculty, administrators, staff, and student workers forming Team Here for the Vibes, Team Just Another Day in the Office, and Team Coyote Net Ninjas. Dr. Flecia Thomas refereed all games in the tournament.

Future competitions may include volleyball, basketball, or possibly dodgeball.
