Nevada is set to see significant economic benefits from investments by four companies receiving abatements, according to a recent announcement. These businesses are expected to invest approximately $3.7 million and generate an estimated $42 million in new tax revenue for the state.
Governor Joe Lombardo commented on the development, saying, “Nevada is building a vibrant, flexible, forward-thinking economy. By investing in four dynamic companies across diverse sectors, we’re not just creating over two hundred high-paying jobs; we’re boosting our state’s economy and setting the stage for a sustainable and prosperous future.”
The companies benefiting from these abatements are located in Clark County and Storey County.
The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) plays a key role in this initiative. Established during the 2011 session of the Nevada Legislature, GOED was formed through collaboration between the legislature and the governor’s office with an aim to restructure economic development within Nevada. The office focuses on promoting a diversified and prosperous economy by stimulating business expansion, encouraging entrepreneurship, attracting new businesses, and facilitating community development.
