Great Basin College’s Manufacturing Machining Technology (MTT) program has achieved national recognition with its students advancing in the Project MFG competition. The event, which challenges participants to demonstrate their skills in precision manufacturing, saw GBC’s team place among the top 16 out of 60 teams nationwide. They will proceed to the regional semifinals in March.
President Amber Donnelli expressed her pride in the team’s accomplishment, highlighting it as a reflection of the dedication and hard work of both students and faculty. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both our students and faculty in preparing the next generation of highly skilled professionals in manufacturing,” she stated.
The competition will be documented on YouTube’s Clash of the Trades series, with the top four teams moving on to the national finals. President Donnelli encouraged support for the team as they continue their journey.
Great Basin College, known as “The Gold Standard in the Silver State,” provides education at associate and baccalaureate levels across various fields. Serving over 4,000 students annually from across the country, GBC operates online and through multiple campuses throughout Nevada.
