The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development announced on June 1 that GOED-assisted companies, in partnership with Regional Development Authorities, represented more than $2.2 billion in capital investment and created 2,178 new initial jobs during 2025.
GOED said it remains focused on creating opportunity, supporting businesses, growing jobs, and building a stronger and more resilient economy for the future. The office highlighted recent celebrations of Economic Development Week as a moment to recognize ongoing efforts across the state to grow the economy and create quality jobs for all Nevadans.
“We’re seeing that progress reflected in our economic development efforts as well. In partnership with our Regional Development Authorities, GOED-assisted companies represented more than $2.2 billion in capital investment and 2,178 new initial jobs created in 2025, and we’re challenging ourselves to do even better this year,” the statement said.
Karsten was recognized as being instrumental in shaping Nevada’s innovation economy by turning ideas into opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs, and communities throughout the state. “This is exactly the kind of leadership that keeps Nevada moving forward,” according to the announcement.
The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development works statewide to enhance job creation by attracting businesses and collaborating with regional development authorities on economic initiatives, according to the official website.
Jenney Sartin, CEO of Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce; Chris Sewell, Director of Department of Employment, Training & Rehabilitation; Sasha Stephenson, President of SSS Public Affairs; and Dr. Victor Wakefield, Superintendent of Public Instruction for the Nevada Department of Education were also mentioned as contributors or partners.
