The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has announced the appointment of Jennifer McGrath to the Board of Regents for District 2. Governor Joe Lombardo selected McGrath to succeed Dr. Lois Tarkanian, who passed away in November 2024 after a long career in public service.

McGrath is an experienced litigator with over twenty years in the field. Her background is expected to bring a unique perspective to her role on the Board, which oversees higher education governance.

“The Board welcomes Jennifer McGrath as we continue our work on behalf of Nevada’s students and the entire NSHE community,” stated Amy J. Carvalho, Chair of the Board of Regents.

Chancellor Patricia Charlton expressed optimism about McGrath’s contribution: “We look forward to working with Jennifer McGrath as she begins her service on the Board. Her experience will contribute to the important discussions shaping the future of higher education in Nevada.”
