Nevadans can now file complaints against car dealers, garages, or other businesses licensed by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) online. This development is part of a new case management system introduced by the DMV’s law enforcement division, marking a significant milestone in the department’s four-year Transformation Effort.
Director Julie Butler stated, “We’re excited to say this is the first look at the DMV of the future.” The new system employs Salesforce’s customer relationship platform and will eventually host nearly all DMV transactions.
The case management system allows the Compliance Enforcement Division to efficiently handle cases with its team of 29 sworn and 12 non-sworn investigators. The division also investigates identity theft involving Nevada driver’s licenses or other DMV documents.
Compliance Enforcement Administrator J.D. Decker noted that “the online complaint forms are easy to use and will ultimately help protect Nevadans from fraud, theft, and bad business practices.”
Basic features developed for case management, such as customer information pages and document upload capabilities, are set to become integral parts of future driver’s license and vehicle transactions.
The DMV has collaborated with external partners Slalom, Mission Critical Partners, and Salesforce to ensure that the Department Transformation Effort remains on schedule and within budget for completion in 2025. Further details on DTE can be found at dmv.nv.gov/dmvfuture.
