Nevada alfalfa producers are currently facing financial difficulties due to high input costs and low market prices, according to the Nevada Farm Bureau Federation. The organization has collaborated with the American Farm Bureau Federation’s economic team to draw attention to these challenges through an article titled “Alfalfa in the Red: Rising Costs, Falling Returns.”
The Nevada Farm Bureau Federation is urging local producers and supporters to communicate their experiences directly to elected officials in Washington, D.C. The group emphasizes that sharing personal stories will help highlight why Nevada alfalfa should be included in any upcoming federal economic support packages.
“Right now, we’re working hard on an issue that’s hitting Nevada alfalfa producers especially hard. High input costs and low market prices are creating real losses, and many operations are feeling the pressure,” the statement said.
“We need our elected leaders in Washington, D.C. to hear directly from producers and supporters in Nevada. The strongest message comes from your story. What you’re facing and why Nevada alfalfa must be included in any federal economic support package being considered.”
The organization encourages interested individuals to sign up for updates regarding news from the Nevada Farm Bureau Federation.
