Every year, the Nevada Commission on Off-Highway Vehicles allocates funds to support various off-highway vehicle (OHV) projects across the state. These initiatives aim to promote safe and enjoyable outdoor experiences on Nevada’s extensive OHV trail system.
The grant program, funded by Nevada’s OHV registration fees, is designed to support a range of activities including trail planning, maintenance, land acquisition, mapping, signage, law enforcement, education, safety training, and conservation efforts.
Recent beneficiaries of the OHV grants include trailhead infrastructure projects in Lincoln and Nye Counties. Additionally, educational programs with the Nevada Outdoor School and the Nevada Offroad Association have received support. The program has also funded new equipment for OHV law enforcement in Storey and Lyon Counties.

They further elaborate that “the Nevada OHV Program provides grants to support a wide range of projects that enhance off-highway vehicle experiences,” including improvements in trails and facilities as well as environmental restoration efforts.
Applications for this year’s funding are due by March 23, 2025. The initiative aims to ensure sustainable outdoor recreation so that “Nevada’s diverse landscapes can be enjoyed by current and future generations.”
