The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents has appointed Dr. Stacy S. Klippenstein as the new President of the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). This decision follows a comprehensive national search process.

Board of Regents Chair Amy J. Carvalho expressed confidence in Dr. Klippenstein’s leadership abilities, stating, “Dr. Klippenstein is an experienced leader with a strong background in expanding access to higher education and strengthening workforce and community partnerships. His success in enrollment growth, workforce education, and student success initiatives makes him well-suited to lead CSN into the future.”

The selection process was overseen by the Board of Regents’ ad hoc CSN President Search Committee, which conducted public forums with four finalists before making their recommendation. Regent Heather Brown, who chaired the committee, noted, “Throughout this search process, we sought a leader who could build upon CSN’s successes and lead the institution into the future. Dr. Klippenstein stood out as the right choice, and I look forward to seeing his impact.”

NSHE Chancellor Patricia Charlton also praised Dr. Klippenstein’s qualifications: “Dr. Klippenstein’s commitment to student access, innovation, and community engagement will strengthen CSN’s role in preparing students for academic and career success. I am confident that he will be a transformational leader for CSN and continue to build on its role as a vital institution in Nevada.”

Dr. Klippenstein will take over from Acting President Dr. William Kibler, who has been leading CSN since July 2024.

With over 30 years of experience in higher education leadership, Dr. Klippenstein currently serves as President of Mohave Community College (MCC) in Arizona where he has expanded enrollment and workforce partnerships among other achievements.

Founded in 1971, CSN is recognized for its focus on two-year degrees along with select bachelor’s degrees.
