The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is set to host the Sankofa Black Writers Series in February, in honor of Black History Month. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to engage with notable Black authors and hear their personal stories.
The series will take place at the Multicultural Center on the Charleston Campus, specifically in Room 121 of the Student Union. Events are scheduled for noon on February 12, 19, and 26. Professor Askia Talib-Deen will serve as the host.
On February 12, Tajja Isen, author of “Some of My Best Friends,” will be featured. The following week, on February 19, AJ Houston will discuss his work “Walking in My Father’s SHOES.” The final event on February 26 will include a group of authors: L’Ve Hall (“Infinite Mine”), Christopher Murphy (“Where the Boys Are”), Kenyatta Neal (“Mookie’s Miracles”), Daynice Cochran (“Unfinished”), and Quincella Genevieve Rivers (“Think of Me When You Drink Tea”).
