Western Nevada College (WNC) Foundation has announced its ongoing partnership with Southwest Gas, an energy service provider catering to over two million customers in Arizona, California, and Nevada. This collaboration will support the institution’s seventh annual Reach for the Stars Gala on Saturday, Aug. 10.

The relationship between Southwest Gas and WNC is well-established, with many WNC alumni securing careers at the company after earning degrees in Construction Management or Welding certificates. The Southwest Gas Foundation remains dedicated to fostering new talent in the natural gas industry through initiatives like the Reach for the Stars Gala.

“Southwest Gas is committed to building meaningful relationships and making a positive impact in the communities it serves. We are proud to partner with organizations like Western Nevada College and its Foundation to support the next generation and contribute to the growth and diversity of our community’s future,” said Chris Anderson, Vice President of Southwest Gas’ Northern Nevada Division.

As part of its continued support, the Southwest Gas Foundation has pledged a $5,000 sponsorship for WNC Foundation’s Reach for the Stars Gala. The event promises an evening filled with entertainment, dining, and décor inspired by both past and future eras.

“We are very fortunate to have a business partner like Southwest Gas that understands the importance of investing in students today so they can make valuable contributions to our workforce in the future,” expressed Niki Gladys, Executive Director of the WNC Foundation. “Their continued support of WNC, the Foundation and our students is greatly appreciated and heartwarming.”

The Reach for the Stars Gala underscores Southwest Gas Foundation’s commitment to empowering individuals where every dream is within reach. For more information about sponsorship opportunities or ticket purchases, contact the WNC Foundation Office at 775-445-3240 or visit wnc.edu/reach.
