The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) is now accepting reservation applications for the opening day and first weekend of the 2024 dove hunting season at the Overton Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The season begins on Sunday, September 1, with the opening weekend scheduled for September 7-8.

According to regulations, the reservation-only dove hunt zone is designated as the Moapa Valley Portion of the Overton WMA. During this period, a maximum capacity of 60 hunters will be allowed in this portion of the WMA. Hunters are required to submit their applications online at www.ndowlicensing.com by no later than 11 p.m. on July 19. A link to the online application can be found on a banner located at the top of NDOW's webpage. To access it, hunters need to click on "Apply for Overton Dove Reservation."

Draw results will be posted on or before July 26, with successful applicants receiving confirmation via email. Paper applications are not available for dove hunt reservations.

"The purpose of the reservation system is to reduce overcrowding and provide a quality hunting experience," stated an NDOW representative.

Only hunters with a valid hunt reservation will be permitted to hunt in the Moapa Valley Portion of OWMA. Any vacancies will be filled by stand-by hunters on a first-come, first-served basis.
