CARSON CITY, Nev. – Lane reductions will commence on July 8 on Alternate U.S. 395 in Washoe City as the Nevada Department of Transportation undertakes roadway resurfacing.

From July 8 through July 15, intermittent single lane closures will occur on Alternate U.S. 395 between Pagni Lane and the Interstate 580 interchange in the Bowers Mansion area. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

Speed limits will be reduced to 40 mph. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and anticipate moderate delays when driving through the area. Those without a destination in the vicinity are recommended to use I-580 instead of Alternate U.S. 395.

Brief intersection closures will also take place as paving progresses through intersections. The road work schedule is subject to change.

The resurfacing project involves adding a two-inch top layer of paving aimed at enhancing and preserving the roadway for a smoother and safer drive.
