The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced upcoming extended lane restrictions on State Route 169 (SR-169) in Moapa Valley. The planned restrictions will involve intermittent closures of one lane on SR-169 in a specified direction, occurring between I-15 and Bowman Road. Traffic control will be managed by flaggers, and motorists are advised to expect delays during these periods.
The intermittent lane restrictions are scheduled nightly from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., from Sunday, July 14 to Thursday, July 25. Additionally, daytime restrictions will occur daily from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., from Monday, July 15 to Friday, July 19. These measures are necessary for paving operations and the installation of guardrails and signs.
The ongoing SR-169 project aims to enhance shoulder width and incorporate a dedicated truck climbing lane.
Motorists are urged to exercise caution while traveling through work zones and consider alternate detour routes if possible. NDOT collaborates with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. Construction schedules may change due to weather or other factors.
