United Way of Southern Nevada announces 2024 Project REACH Senior Expo dates
LAS VEGAS (July 15, 2024) – United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) has announced the dates for the annual Project REACH Senior Expos, beginning August 15 at Palace Station.
UWSN’s Project REACH provides financial assistance to seniors aged 62 and older with past-due utility bills. The program is designed to help those experiencing economic hardship and is funded by United Way of Southern Nevada’s Emergency Assistance Fund, powered by the NV Energy Foundation.
During the Project REACH Senior Expos, various utility service providers will be on-site to provide utility bill assistance, including NV Energy and Southwest Gas. Local organizations such as Cox Communications, Aetna, CenterWell, Las Vegas Valley Water District, HELP of Southern Nevada, and UnitedHealthcare will also be in attendance to offer additional information and resources to seniors.
Additional expo dates include:
- August 22 from 8 a.m.—12 p.m.: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall (5111 Boulder Highway)
- August 27 from 8 a.m.—12 p.m.: The Orleans Hotel & Casino (4500 W. Tropicana Avenue)
- August 29 from 8 a.m.—12 p.m.: Aliante Casino, Hotel & Spa (73000 North Aliante Parkway)
“The Project REACH Senior Expos, powered by NV Energy, deliver essential utility assistance and resources to local seniors during the hot summer months,” said Samuel Rudd, UWSN COO and CFO. “UWSN is proud to collaborate with NV Energy, utility providers, and community partners to ensure that seniors in need receive this crucial support.”
Eligible individuals and households can submit one application every 12 months and must meet income eligibility guidelines. Applicants must provide proof of eligibility along with a copy of their past-due utility bill. Income eligibility and additional requirements can be found HERE.
The Project REACH Senior Expos are sponsored by NV Energy, Southwest Gas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, CenterWell, Cox Communications, and Union Pacific.
