The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced the closure of Las Vegas Blvd (SR-604) under Interstate 15 (I-15) and associated on/off ramps at Apex for paving operations.
From 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 25:
- North and southbound Las Vegas Blvd will be closed under I-15.
- Las Vegas Blvd on and off ramps to north and southbound I-15 will be closed intermittently and reopen once work is complete.
From 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. from Sunday, July 28 to Tuesday, July 30:
- North and southbound Las Vegas Blvd will be closed under I-15.
This closure is part of the ongoing I-15 widening project aimed at expanding the freeway from two to three lanes in each direction between Speedway Blvd and the U.S. 93 interchange. The project also includes bridge rehabilitation, commercial truck parking improvements, and enhanced landscaping along an 11-mile stretch of the freeway. The $71.5 million project began in Summer 2022 and is expected to conclude in Fall 2024.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through work zones and consider alternate detour routes when possible. NDOT collaborates with Waze to inform the public about planned highway restrictions. The schedule may change due to weather or other factors.
