The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) will celebrate LGBTQIA+ History Month this October. This period is dedicated to honoring the contributions, struggles, and successes of the LGBTQIA+ community. Additionally, Friday, October 11th marks National Coming Out Day, a day focused on supporting those who have chosen to live openly as their authentic selves.
Events throughout October include:
- A Memory Wall event for National Coming Out Day from October 7-9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Charleston Campus Multicultural Center in the Student Union.
- Drag Bingo on Tuesday, October 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Henderson Campus Student Union.
- Participation in the Vegas Pride Parade with CSN on Friday, October 11 from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Las Vegas.
Another highlighted event is "#QueerTalk: Guide Through Nonbinary Lenses" on Wednesday, October 23 from 3-5 p.m., at Charleston Campus, C Building, Room C209. The session will be led by educator and speaker Rio Antonè (She/Her, He/Him, They/Them) and aims to provide insights into the nonbinary experience.
