Truckee Tahoe Lumber Company has committed $15,000 to support students at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) through scholarships in Construction Management and Architecture. This pledge will provide three annual $1,000 scholarships over the next five years, assisting students with tuition, books, and other educational expenses.
TMCC offers degree and certificate programs in Construction Management and Architecture and Design. Students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Construction Management gain skills applicable to residential, commercial, and heavy construction markets. Skills certificates are also available for construction estimating and project management.
The Architecture Program provides several degree options including a new 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (BArch). This program prepares students for licensure as architects, landscape architects or residential designers. Additionally, the program offers an AAS in Architecture and Residential Design as well as Landscape Architecture.
The scholarships from Truckee Tahoe Lumber come at a time of increasing enrollment in these programs. “We are grateful for this gift and the amazing partnership with Truckee Tahoe Lumber Company. The positive impact of this contribution will make a lasting difference for our students and the community,” said Gretchen Sawyer, Executive Director of Foundation and Grants.
