WCET and SAN have announced the winners of their 2024 awards, recognizing significant achievements in digital learning within higher education. The WCET Awards and SANsational Awards highlight individuals and organizations for their leadership and innovation.
The WCET Individual Awards honored Russ Poulin, WCET Executive Director, and Luke Dowden, Chief Online Learning Officer at Alamo Colleges District, with the Richard Jonsen & Mollie McGill Award for their leadership in higher education. Kylah Torre from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Division of Digital Learning received the Sally M. Johnstone Award for her dedication to student success.
The WCET Outstanding Work (WOW) Awards were given to several institutions: Mississippi Community College Board for its Mississippi Virtual Community College; SUNY COIL, Maritime, NCC, Oneonta, UCAB & SUNY Online for COIL+OSCQR Standards; Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Division of Digital Learning; and University of Hawai’i System for its Anatomy and Physiology Open Educational Resources Project.
The 2024 State Authorization Network (SAN) SANsational Awards recognized various projects: Post University in Connecticut for maintaining databases supporting personalized student licensure advising; University of Kentucky for its Certification Procedures Planning Project and Global Compliance Pilot Project; Southern New Hampshire University for identifying student location reporting; University of Nevada, Las Vegas for data collection accuracy in out-of-state learning placements; Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida for a SharePoint-based change management process; and Rio Salado College in Arizona for its compliance calendar tool.
