The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles has announced the closure of its field offices across the state and several centralized services in Carson City, including the call center. This measure, effective from 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, is part of efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 among state employees, their families, and the public.
"We know many of our customers are facing deadlines to obtain a driver’s license, vehicle registration or other time-sensitive documents, but the health and safety of our communities must come first," stated Director Julie Butler. "We will be releasing further guidance for customers as soon as possible."
Despite these closures, online services and kiosks provided by the department remain available for use by Nevadans. Residents are encouraged to visit the DMV website at dmvnv.com for updated information and a list of available online services.
Examples of online transactions can be found under DMV Online Services.
