In Carson City, Nevada DMV offices will close on Monday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. This follows legislation signed by Governor Lombardo that officially recognizes Juneteenth as a state holiday.
Eli Rohl, Public Information Officer for the Nevada DMV, addressed concerns about the impact of this closure on scheduled appointments. "We’re aware that the closure of our offices on a day where customers had appointments scheduled can be jarring," said Rohl. He assured customers that their appointments would be accommodated through walk-ins until the end of June. "Whenever you have time to come in, just show us an appointment confirmation for June 19 and we’ll fit you right into our schedule."
For those unable to access their appointment confirmation emails, Rohl mentioned that DMV staff could retrieve appointment details at the respective office. Special arrangements are being made for drive exams affected by the closure. "We recognize that customers who have drive exams scheduled will need to be penciled in for new times; we’re already reaching out to try and accommodate customers who have displaced drive tests."
Regular operations at Nevada DMV offices will resume on Tuesday, June 20.
