The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will close its field offices and suspend all online services this Saturday, June 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closure is due to an upgrade by the State of Nevada Enterprise IT Services Division, which involves replacing central computing equipment used by most state agencies.
During this period, DMV websites, kiosks, emissions stations, and online services utilized by auto dealers will be unavailable. Motorists will not have access to complete emissions tests.
Julie Butler, Director of the DMV, stated: “Our staff will be standing by to make sure DMV services are up and running after the outage. It’s important that motorists use the DMV’s alternate services rather than visit an office when possible, particularly for vehicle registration renewals.”
Following the closure on June 20, DMV Field Services offices in Las Vegas, Henderson, and Reno will resume offering Saturday hours starting June 27. These offices will operate from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
