The Nevada Commission on Mentoring (NCOM) has opened applications for its FY2025 micro-grants. These grants are intended for nonprofit organizations or programs in Nevada that offer mentorship to youth aged 3 to 24.

Jhone Ebert, Superintendent of Public Instruction, emphasized the importance of mentorship, stating, "Mentorship is deeply important to the social, emotional, and academic development of our Nevada youth." She expressed gratitude for the partnership with NCOM in supporting mentoring organizations throughout the state.

NCOM has allocated a total of $25,000 for programs focused on mentoring. Of this amount, $12,500 is designated specifically for new and specialized organizations meeting certain criteria.

Karl Catarata, Chairman of NCOM, acknowledged various supporters by saying, “On behalf of NCOM commissioners, I thank Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo, State Superintendent Jhone Ebert, the Nevada Department of Education, and members of the Nevada Legislature for allowing us to carry out our mission to support mentoring organizations across Nevada.” He added that they are eager to assist their partners with these resources and anticipate applications from new and specialized groups serving diverse needs.
