The Governor's Office of Economic Development has announced the approval of $1.1 million in funding to support workforce training programs at Truckee Meadows Community College. This funding is aimed at enhancing training in the manufacturing and auto/diesel sectors.

Governor Joe Lombardo stated, "With this new funding, we’re delivering targeted workforce training to meet the evolving needs of key industries in our state." He emphasized that the initiative would benefit Nevadans statewide through strategic training programs.

The funding is part of the latest round of WINN (Workforce Innovations for a New Nevada) funding, which supports the operation of these programs.

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development was established during the 2011 session of the Nevada Legislature. It was formed through a collaborative effort between the Nevada Legislature and the Governor’s Office to restructure economic development within the state. The office's mission is to promote a robust, diversified, and prosperous economy in Nevada by stimulating business expansion and retention, encouraging entrepreneurial enterprise, attracting new businesses, and facilitating community development.
