Down south, the footwear company Crocs has opened a one-million-square-foot facility in North Las Vegas. This new warehouse, which received assistance from the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED), is now the largest in Southern Nevada. Edgewood Renewables, another company that benefited from GOED's tax abatements earlier this year, is planning to build a biorefinery for renewable jet fuel at a former fuel terminal site in North Las Vegas.

In Northern Las Vegas, companies are contributing to transforming the area into an industrial hub. Up north, Vantage Data Centers plans to construct a colocated data center facility in Storey County. This facility will offer various services including installing and maintaining network resources and ensuring data center security. It has been approved for $11,531,616 in tax abatements and intends to invest $150 million in capital equipment over its first two years of operation. The project is expected to generate $82,517,944 in new tax revenues during the 10-year abatement period.

Supporting small local businesses remains essential for GOED. In March, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Western Turf and Hardscapes' new Reno location. This family-run business has served Northern Nevada for nearly five decades.
