United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) recently held its 17th annual Women United Suit Drive, achieving its most successful collection yet. The drive gathered over 17,000 items of gently used professional clothing and accessories from the community across Southern Nevada. These donations, which include blazers, skirts, hospital scrubs, and shoes, aim to assist women in local return-to-work programs as they prepare for job interviews and re-enter the workforce.
Following a month-long collection period, UWSN organized a Sip N Sort event where nearly 100 volunteers and Women United members sorted through the donated items. The clothing will be distributed to several nonprofit organizations in Southern Nevada such as Dress for Success of Southern Nevada, The Shade Tree, UNSHAKEABLE, and JAG Nevada.
To honor the record-breaking success of this year's suit drive, UWSN and Women United plan to host a Suit Drive Celebration Breakfast at the Las Vegas Country Club on November 20th from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Attendees will have the chance to engage with community leaders, supporters, and Women United members.
