The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has expanded its Rapid Registration service to all Northern Nevada offices. This online vehicle registration option is accessible through the DMV's website, www.dmv.nv.gov.

"We are so proud of this release," said Director Tonya Laney. "This is the largest public launch of a product from the DMV’s Transformation Effort (DTE) to date, and I am overjoyed to see our customers using this service with ease, just like we hoped they would."

Since its initial rollout three months ago, Rapid Registration has facilitated over 16,000 DriveNV portal creations and more than 1,000 successful registration transactions. The DTE aims to transition most DMV services online via DriveNV, which will eventually replace the current MyDMV portal. This shift is expected to reduce the need for in-person visits.

"I am very excited for the future of Rapid Registration," Laney stated. "We were able to successfully move a huge service online, eliminating the need for some of our customers to come into an office. Seeing this win not only makes me hopeful for future product rollouts, but it also proves that we can and will continue to provide what our customers have been requesting for many years."

Rapid Registration caters specifically to new residents who have yet to register their vehicles in Nevada and those who have purchased vehicles from out-of-state dealerships or private parties with titles in their names. It also applies to vehicles received as gifts.

The service was initially launched at Elko and Sahara DMV offices on August 12 and extended to Carson City and Reno on October 14 before becoming available across all Northern Nevada offices today.
