United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) marked the success of its 17th annual Women United Suit Drive with a breakfast celebration at the Las Vegas Country Club on November 20. The event, held in Las Vegas, was organized to recognize the most successful suit drive in the initiative's history.
The celebration brought together community leaders, supporters, and members of Women United. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with a panel of nonprofit leaders. The panel included Bryan Stewart, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Goodwill of Southern Nevada; Debra Isaacs, Founder and President of UNSHAKEABLE; Linda Perez, CEO of The Shade Tree; and Shaundra Higgins, Development & Communications Manager at U.S.VETS Las Vegas.
This year's drive saw over 17,000 gently used professional clothing items and accessories donated by residents across Southern Nevada. These donations include blazers, skirts, hospital scrubs, shoes, among other items. They are intended to support women participating in local return-to-work programs by helping them prepare for job interviews and re-enter the workforce.
