The Las Vegas Raiders, in collaboration with the Raiders Foundation, have once again joined forces with the United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) and Smith’s Food and Drug Store to host their second annual holiday meal packing event. This initiative aims to support families facing food insecurity in Southern Nevada during the holiday season.
The organizations contributed $150,000 for supplies and food. On November 4th, team members from the Las Vegas Raiders packed 10,000 holiday meals at the Raiders Headquarters with assistance from UWSN.
"United Way of Southern Nevada is proud to partner once again with the Las Vegas Raiders for this Thanksgiving Meal Distribution," stated Samuel Rudd, President and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada. "With the support of our incredible volunteers, we’re able to unite as a community to ensure families across Southern Nevada have a Thanksgiving meal this holiday season. This partnership truly shows the impact we can make together as a united community."
After packing, these meals were distributed through UWSN's community partners.
"For the second year in a row, the Raiders organization is proud to partner with United Way of Southern Nevada and Smith’s Food & Drug Stores to help feed families in need this holiday season. Together, we packed 10,000 meals that will be distributed to over 30 local, community-based organizations. I’m incredibly proud that over 150 employees volunteered their time to successfully execute this community service effort that supports families right here in the Las Vegas valley," said Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders.
