United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) is marking the season of giving with a series of initiatives aimed at supporting the community. The organization has teamed up with Steiner’s Pub to host its annual Warmth Drive, collecting new and gently used items such as blankets, jackets, coats, gloves, socks, and scarves until January 6. These donations will help individuals and families stay warm during the winter months.
Items can be dropped off at United Way of Southern Nevada's office at 5830 W. Flamingo Road or any Steiner’s Pub location in Las Vegas. The locations include Steiner’s Cheyenne on W Cheyenne Avenue, Steiner’s Buffalo on N Buffalo Drive, and Steiner’s Las Vegas Blvd on S Las Vegas Blvd. All pubs are open 24 hours for convenience.
In addition to the Warmth Drive, UWSN has announced an additional $1.3 million in funding from the Nevada Department of Education. This funding supports UWSN’s Student Success Program Partners and enhances its Community Impact Grant initiatives. "Aligned with UWSN’s mission to unite the community to improve people’s lives," these grants assist local nonprofits focused on student achievement, workforce pathways, and household stability.
To further engage the community this holiday season, United Way of Southern Nevada has launched a Season of Giving Volunteer Guide through their Volunteer Connect platform. This guide provides information on holiday volunteer opportunities available in the area. For more details about volunteering or getting involved this season, visit uwsn.org/seasonofgiving.
