The Nevada Labor Commissioner has announced the opening of a new reporting portal for contractors who worked on public works projects in 2024. This follows the enactment of Senate Bill 82 by the 2023 Nevada Legislature, which introduced an annual reporting requirement under the Apprentice Utilization Act (AUA).

Starting January 1, 2025, contractors must report the hours apprentices were employed on these projects. The upgraded case management software aims to streamline this process in line with the new legislative requirements.

The AUA reporting portal will remain open until February 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM. It can be accessed through the Labor Commission's website under the AUA tab. Instructions and a demonstration are also available online.

Contractors are reminded that all submitted data will undergo review to ensure compliance with AUA requirements. They should include all crafts in one submission and only upload supporting documentation if apprentice hours fall short.

For further information or inquiries regarding AUA reporting, contractors can reach out via email at aua@labor.nv.gov or call 702‐486‐2650.

The Office of the Labor Commissioner is also monitoring potential legislative changes during the upcoming 2025 session that may affect apprentice utilization and public works projects.
