Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has initiated a $20 million nationwide campaign urging Congress to renew the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), a key element of President Trump's economic agenda. This campaign is considered the largest effort by a conservative organization to support Trump's second-term legislative priorities.
Starla Brown, AFP-MS State Director, stated, "This year, Congress is facing a countdown to a crisis that threatens family budgets nationwide. If Congress fails to renew the TCJA, Mississippians will be left paying $1,498 more in taxes." She emphasized the potential negative impact on local businesses and jobs if these tax cuts are not renewed.
Brown added, "If we are going to reignite the American Dream, we need to start with protecting the progress we made with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act." She also expressed pride in partnering with the Trump Administration to prevent increased tax burdens on Mississippians.
The Protect Prosperity campaign aims to mobilize voters across all 50 states through various outreach efforts. The campaign seeks to amplify voices supporting pro-growth tax cuts while holding accountable those who do not support this agenda. It includes media engagement strategies and lobbying efforts involving over 1,000 meetings with Congressional offices.
In previous years, AFP reached nearly 30 million voters. This year, they plan extensive grassroots activities including phone banks and door-to-door contacts. More information about joining their movement can be found at ProtectProsperity.com.
