Americans for Prosperity-Alabama (AFP-AL) is marking National School Choice Week by highlighting the importance of diverse educational opportunities that cater to individual learning needs. The organization has consistently advocated against a uniform education model, emphasizing the need for parental choice in their children's education.

During an appearance on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program,” AFP-AL discussed the impact of Education Savings Accounts (ESA), introduced through Governor Kay Ivey’s CHOOSE Act. The program has seen significant interest, with thousands applying on its launch day.

Adam Thompson, State Director of AFP-AL, expressed enthusiasm for the week-long celebration: “We are thrilled to celebrate National School Choice Week, a time to recognize and appreciate the diverse educational options available to families across Alabama. We are fortunate to build off the success of the CHOOSE Act which provides options that best serve Alabama’s learners and their future aspirations.”

Last year, AFP-AL played a key role in promoting the ESA initiative by encouraging legislative support for flexible education solutions tailored to individual family needs. Their grassroots campaign backed both the CHOOSE Act and broader education freedom initiatives, as recently noted by Thompson on the Love Your School Alabama podcast.
