The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is set to conduct a test of its Emergency Notification System on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. This exercise aims to ensure that students, faculty, and staff are receiving emergency alerts and have reviewed their personal safety plans.
The University Police Department (UPD) advises the CSN community to take this opportunity to prepare for unexpected situations. The UPD encourages everyone to download the CSN MobileSAFETY app, which provides emergency notifications and resources. Users should check their phone settings to allow alerts from the app and ensure their mobile devices are updated and connected to eduroam Wi-Fi where available.
For those needing assistance with the app, several troubleshooting steps are recommended. Users can open the app and navigate to About/Preferences, select MyData Update, then tap Check for Updates. They should also verify that alerts are enabled in Notification Settings and use the built-in troubleshooter by tapping Send Notification to Device.
In case an alert is not received during the test, individuals are advised to contact UPD Assistant Director Louise Hardy at Louise.Hardy@unlv.edu for further assistance.
