TMCC EPIC (Educational Programs Inspiring the Community) offers a series of classes designed for lifelong learning, personal development, and social interaction, specifically tailored for seniors. The EPIC Encore series is now enrolling students aged 60 and older for its Spring 2025 courses.

The program includes a variety of classes such as "Chair Chi," which provides the benefits of traditional Tai Chi from the comfort of a chair, aiming to improve strength, flexibility, cognitive function, and reduce stress. "Piano 1 for Silver Students" introduces fundamentals like fingering positions and reading sheet music. "Silver Pilates" offers low-impact exercises to enhance stamina, strength, posture, and balance.

Other courses include "iPhone for Beginners," teaching smartphone navigation and app usage; "Chinese Mahjong," which helps exercise the brain while learning Chinese words; and "Silver Yoga," aimed at improving physical health and flexibility. The course "Contemplating Death" encourages exploration through readings and discussions about grief.

"Computer Confidence" aims to increase computer literacy with lessons on technology use, document creation, internet searches, and email writing. "Self-Defense for Seniors" focuses on self-defense techniques adapted for age-related limitations. Additionally, "Taiko Drumming" introduces participants to Japanese drumming basics.

EPIC offers a 10% Senior Discount for students aged 65+ and Women’s Sunshine Fund Scholarships are available for select classes. Most classes are held at TMCC’s Meadowood Center. Enrollment does not require being an enrolled for-credit student at TMCC.

For more information or to enroll in these classes, interested individuals are encouraged to contact TMCC EPIC directly.
