On February 19, Moonridge Group, United Way of Southern Nevada, and United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra organized the 10th annual Philanthropy Day at the Nevada Legislature in Carson City. This event brought together philanthropic leaders and legislative representatives for discussions on philanthropy's future in Nevada.
Participants engaged in conversations about the role of philanthropic and public funding in state growth, community needs, and sustainability. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between local leaders.
Speakers included Secretary of State Francisco Aguilar; Julie Murray, CEO and principal of Moonridge Group; Blake Pang, president and CEO of United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra; Samuel Rudd, president and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada; David Taylor, Co-Chair of the Nevada Corporate Giving Council; Nick Vassiliadis from R&R Partners; Stephen Wood from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development; and Annie Zucker, Co-Chair of the Nevada Corporate Giving Council.
The gathering provided a platform for networking with policymakers and donors while celebrating its 10th anniversary.
